In literacy we have been looking at Authors. It has been such a pleasure listening to all our pupils talking about the fantastic variety of Authors they have read and what a well read bunch they are!

We have been using our chrome books and iPads to find out all about our favourite Authors.

Did you know that Julia Donaldson sometimes writes her books in the bath, Valerie Thomas has a pet cat just like Winnie the Witch and Roald Dahl had an open top car?

I think we have all learnt something new about a range of authors and lots of us have a long list of books we are planning to read in the future - there's nothing like a recommendation from a friend to build on your love of reading!

Books at Bedtime.

We had a great evening last Friday. Children were invited back into school in the evening to enjoy some books read by members of staff.

We had a great turn up of children all dressed in PJ's, with their favourite cuddly toys, ready to enjoy a story together.

Children split up into lots of different groups in East base. It was lovely to share some of our old and new favourite books with the children from Osprey Quay (along with older siblings from other campuses and schools!)

Book Reviews

As part of out World Book Day celebrations we have been making some short book reviews.

We hope you like some of our favourites. If you have a favourite book please let us know. Hopefully we can find some new books we might really enjoy!

World Book day Parade

After the excitement of this morning everyone from Osprey Quay collected together to show off their costumes and to tell the rest of our Campus what their book characters were. We had an excellent time looking at some of the amazing ideas children had dressed as and was lovely to see such a range of characters.

Can you spot from our pictures: The big bad Wold, Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Charlie Bucket, Wally, Horrid Henry, Mildred Hubble, Matilda, Spiderman and even the Fat Controller to mention just a few!

West Base Year 2's

Everyone from West Base

Foundation stage

I think Fantastic Mr Fox and Charlie Bucket were a bit busy reading their books on the way out. What better picture to show our love of reading at IPACA Osprey Quay Campus!

World Book Day - Year 2

What a fantastic day we have had for World book day today. Everyone made an absolutely fantastic effort and the costumes were fantastic so thank you to all Mums, Dads, Grannies and other grownups who helped all our children get their costumes sorted.

It was lovely to hear the pupils talking about the books they had brought in to match their characters.

Here is a picture of West Base Year 2's.

We hope you like our costumes.
