The end of a great year

We wanted to share with you our highlights of the year from West Base. Thank you to everyone who has visited our blog this year, we have had an amazing 11000+ page views since September and it's been fantastic to be able to share our work with people all over the world!

It would be lovely to hear what your favourites moments have been from our blog this year.

We looking forward to sharing lots more exciting moments with you in the new school year.

Our trip to SandWorld

On the 17th of July my school went to SandWorld we went on coaches. It was a lot of fun.
the reason we went was because of our topic is hip hip hooray for holiday. This is what we did...

When we got there we got into house groups then we all started going and doing different activities.

My favourite activity was the tour because a man called nick showed us around and he explained about all the sand sculptures, it was cool. My favourite sculpture was the Frankenstein on because of the way it was made.

Did you know the lowest amount of days to make a sculpture was two days and the sculpture was the Hungry Caterpillar written by Eric Carle.

After we went into the sand pit area and we learnt how to make sand towers and drip towers.  That was really fun too. I made one with Jude and Ebony, it was a bit wonky burt it didn't matter.

Finally at the end of the day, we got back on the coaches and went back to school. When we got back we watched Bug's Life and when our parents came we got a lolly and went home. It was a good day.

Story Writing Competition

Back in June, Mr Wadley launched a story writing competition. Children from all campuses within IPACA were invited to take part in a story writing competition. The challenge was for all children to write for half an hour a day for the whole month of June.

With much excitement the pupils in west Base rose to the challenge, we had dedicated story writing areas...

Today was the day when the winners were announced. The entered were judged by year 10 pupils and Mr Wadley- we learnt they were looking for originality and humour and are very excited to share with you the winners...

In third police was Lawrence, second went to Billy and the winner (with a story that had the year 10's in stitches) was Jacob!

My school trip to SandWorld

On July 17 my class went to SandWorld with east base,we got there on six coaches. We organised the groups with our houses.

The resin we went to SandWorld is our topic is Hooray, let's go on holiday.

When we got there we walked into a little court yard by a massive sand pit I will tell you about later.

There were four activities they were: a tour, sketching, activity sheets and massive sand pit.

First wren went on a tour it was fascinating how people could carve sand into such amazing things. And with such detail I loved it the reson I was s stunned was because I couldn't do anything like that it is truly amazing.

Next was sketching I have to admit I was not to keen I just couldn't do it, you had to draw four things that you had seen and I am rubbish at drawing.

After that was the activity sheets I didn't even get close to finishing them so I can't really say anything.

Last we did the massive sand pit were I made two big castles and Miss Heppell made a minion.

School Disco Time

Tonight was the annual IPACA Disco. We had a great time at Osprey Quay Campus. Special thanks for the evening goes to the amazing student helpers from Royal Manor Campus - how you managed to dance non stop from 3.30 - 7pm we have no idea and also to our Sixth Form students who made great door men/women!

We would also like to thank the wonderful FoIPACA members for keeping us fed and watered and to Mr Spracklen and Mr Day who did a great job DJ-ing.

What a super evening. I think it's safe to say we will all sleep well this evening!
